Hi there! I’m Kate, the maker behind Odis Boy Puppy Apparel. I was born and raised in Utah and live here with my husband, Jeff, and our two doodle boys, Wattson and Ollie.
Jeff and I met through our local triathlon club and got married in 2020. While endurance sports were what brought us together, creating playful, handmade bandanas for dogs has become the thing that fills our home (and hearts) these days.
How It All Started
I actually grew up around sewing, my mom and three sisters loved making clothes and projects, but as a kid, it wasn’t really my thing. Fast forward a few years, and I found myself dusting off those old skills when I wanted to spoil my dog, Wattson, and my sister’s dog, Moqui.
It was so much fun making bandanas that matched their personalities, and even cuter seeing them match each other! Before long, I was sewing for my sisters’ “cousin dogs,” neighbor pups, and every four-legged friend in sight.
I wanted each bandana to be fun, colorful, and totally unique, with enough variety that every dog could find one that felt just right. What started with three sizes quickly grew, there are now seven sizes so that no pup is left out!
The Odis Boy Difference
When I used to shop for bandanas for Wattson, I noticed they were usually either tie-on or slip-over-the-collar styles. The tie-ons never stayed tied, and the collar ones were a pain to put on. So, I started making clip-style bandanas, super easy to put on and even easier to take off.
From choosing fabrics and sewing each piece, to making the tags and packaging, every part of the process is done by me, by hand, with a whole lot of love (and maybe a little dog hair).
Of course, I couldn’t do it without Jeff, my emotional support, sounding board, and the muscle behind setting up our market booth (he deserves a medal for that!).
Meet the Pups
Wattson is our 6-year-old Goldendoodle, 95% a good boy, and 5% mischievous troublemaker (and he knows it).
Ollie is our one-and-a-half-year-old, probably Bernedoodle (we’re still not totally sure), who’s the sweetest 90-pound lap dog you’ll ever meet.
And we can’t forget Moqui, Wattson and Ollie’s cousin! She’s a small field Golden Retriever with the perfect mix of sassy and sweet, and she totally bosses the boys around. You’ll often spot her modeling at our markets!
Why “Odis Boy"?
People often ask where the name comes from, many thinking it's our dog's name, but it’s a funny little story. One of Wattson’s many nicknames started with us saying, “Oh, this boy is so cute!” (in full dog-parent baby voice, of course). Over time, it just became “Odis Boy.”
It stuck, and now it’s the heart of everything we make.
Our Mission
At Odis Boy Puppy Apparel, we believe dogs make the world a better place, so they deserve to be spoiled and look amazing while doing it. Each bandana is handmade with love, joy, and a whole lot of personality, just like the dogs who wear them.
